USC vs. Oxy

Hi, so these are super different schools, but I'm really torn. I'm planning on majoring in IR at either Oxy or USC, and i don't know which school would be a better fit. I received around the same amount of merit scholarship from both schools, so money isn't a factor.

Can anyone comment on the level of interaction with professors at USC? I got rejected from Thematic Option, so that was a bummer. Are large classes still manageable, or is it harder to learn, and are there enough resources available for when you have questions? It seems like you would get much more attention from professors at a liberal arts school, but, Oxy is a really small school, and USC seems much better in terms of job placement.....?

Thanks!!!

Anyone at all?

USC has a superb student-faculty ratio (9-1). I don’t believe you would have a problem interacting with professors. : )

i go to usc and my brother actually gos to oxy.

usc - larger student population, more to do, surroundings are less safe, fun, party hard work hard, beautiful people, crap off campus housing - but overall i love it - trojan spirit is crazy.

oxy- laid back, community feel, peopl get closer, nice campus - my brother LOVES it there.

Forgotten,
If you possibly can try to visit the two schools during a weekday when classes are in session. Walk around and visit the bookstore. Take a campus tour. Visit the libraries.
Can you see yourself on either campus?

What cultural events are on campus? Is there an art gallery? What about concerts and films?

These two colleges are so different is is difficult to compare. One ends up in the classic discussion of LAC vs. University. You must find your own “fit”.
