USC vs. UCLA/other top UC for EC's and such

Hey..
Alright, for transfer admissions criteria, does USC consider, say, EC's, campus political involvement, etc., any less than UCLA, or Berkeley?

I know this is really just one of those stupid questions with not enough details factored into the premise, but I just had a conversation with somebody about this here on campus, and he mentioned that you should pretty much be ok with grades only and a nicely carved out personal essay. But I know this is all relative to the dept, and all that.

So you better show some serious commitment for usc marshall business, as opposed to maybe a dept with many less applicants.

Well, dunno... I was basically set on transferring to Calstate L.A. Math in Spring '06... i mean for me, my GPA isn't anywhere near feasible for USC... and I don't think there's enough time to raise my GPA considerably enough for a good shot at USC anyway... so... well, I just don't know.

Been at CC for a while, it's basically time to move out... but I don't really have any realistic desires for grad. school, but sure, it'd be nice to graduate from the likes of USC, etc...

Anyway, I'm a Math major.

Look I know that looking at this is really a case-by-case thing, and one little detail might have a bearing on one case, and zero on the next....
also i'm mainly doing this to better myself, and not for direct career use.

I want to complete this academic stage. So you can see how much I think it's important, since I'm not just doing it for good entry level jobs, and the such. I am doing it for personal academic betterment, and the full scope of experience it offers.... and really the latter at any campus... it's obviously up to the student.

Alright.. this rambled on again... sorry gang... but thanks for the read.

what are u asking?

what I'm asking is basically in the first sentence.

Oh ok. From what i heard it's all about the same. But u have to realize that as transfer student from CCC, u're mostly evaluated on GPA and prereqs done. The EC stuff can only help u if u're borderline etc.
