UCLA trash talks USC so much out of pure jealousy & spite. It's really true. They recognize the fact that they're not the elite Los Angeles school they once were and that USC is replacing them. Tough break Bruins.

now that post is spiteful

caliboi1313,

Yes, because USC never trash talks.

Sheesh.

which school is more cut throat- im assuming ucla
this is very important to me since i will pursue college as a premed major.

Most would probably argue UCLA.

But I'd suggest that you consider that a cutthroat atmosphere in undergrad may not be a bad thing...if you do well.

Either way, I also wouldn't make your decision based on your pre-med plans. You have no idea how many people drop out of the pre-med game. Oh, and there is no such thing as a "pre-med major."

dude like every other person i meet here is "premed, but i hate chemistry and math"

im thinking of heading for international relations. pre-med bores me.

I like pre-med, but I hate chemistry and math.

caliboi1313,

Go for IR! That's what I'm studying.

IR is good. But make sure to do as much quantitative coursework as you can.

UCLA has the most Asians in the United States and the most pre-meds in the United States.
No other university can boast that much cutthroat competition.

i agree taht ucla is not racially diverse. its all asian and white. hwoever, usc is not much better. a few extra scholarship minorities doesnt hide the fact that its predomiately rich and white (whilst ucla is predomiantely middle class and asian).

Hi everyone. I have a question.

When you say middle class, what exactly do you mean by that in US standard? I'm a Singaporean who currently on an exchange student program at the University of the Philippines at Diliman so I may view it entirely different from what a middle class is in our country.

hell if i know it's just a statement. as a singaporean who would consider being in the LA you are probably more well off than us

hmm isn't middle class family income from 100k to 200k a year?

Middle class is somewhat dependent on location.

you wont notice CUTTHROATNESSSSS in the sense that someone is breathing behind your neck, ready to steal your notes and sabotage you.

it's only there when u find out the midterm avgs

is this for ucla? cause that is scary

Haha, as someone who just moved to california I laught at the "middle class is 100 - 200k a year"

100-200k a year is definately upper middle class, even in expensive places..

Haha, 100-200k is middle class here in california, and upper class in 75% of the country
