My son is a freshman, and I was wondering how I can access the USCard account to check the balance on his dining dollars vs. discresh. I bought the middle meal plan so that he would have the extra dining dollars to eat at other places than his usual Parkside. I also put discresh on the card. I wanted to check the balances to make sure he is using up the dining dollars first, since they are non-refundable if unused at the end of the semester. My Oasis guest log in does not work...do I need a different guest access? Do they really need to make this so confusing??

To log into USCard Services, your son will need to give you guest access and it is different than Oasis.

There was a long thread on the main USC section of CC a few weeks back regarding dining dollars vs. discresh. It is important to note that when your son is eating outside of Parkside or EVK at a place where he wants to use dining dollars, he should tell the cashier he is using dining dollars so they do not take out dicresh money.

Remember, dining dollars are lost at the end of the semester if they are not used, but discresh stays in the account. Basically, you can check your son’s discresh balance and transactions through the USCard Services (once you have access) but there is no place to check the dining dollar balance on-line. Your son will just have to ask at one of the cashiers. Good luck.
