USConnect question/speculation?

I got my mail in Southern California and was accepted (I had a known major and class if that helps)

@friedfish
I’m at Xaverian, yourself?
And I’m in a similar situation! I only applied to 9, and I’ve only gotten into 2 so far (BU, Pace) for completely different majors. Rejected from U of Miami, UCLA, and I guarantee UC Berkeley later tonight. USC and NYU are the film schools I applied to, and that’s ultimately what I want to do. I know my visual sample was great, but that unknown/unknown has me lightheaded @-)

@mattzl where in SoCal?

@bsmom123 - poster @nkmscpa reported receiving an acceptance package today via Priority Mail <a href=“USC Class of 2018 Applicants Thread - #276 by nkmscpa - University of Southern California - College Confidential Forums”>USC Class of 2018 Applicants Thread - #276 by nkmscpa - University of Southern California - College Confidential Forums;

@mattzl - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Has anyone been accepted yet that had an “unknown/unknown” posted?

@cjcow56 Arcadia (near Los Angeles), but a lot of people I know haven’t gotten anything yet so it’s probably still sending

^^^
Not from what I’ve been reading :expressionless:

Could you tell me where you are seeing the majors listed? I don’t see anything but have the “acted upon” message.

If you don’t receive it today and you’re in SoCal, then it’s most likely a rejection. I probably got rejected.

The majors were listed briefly last weekend on the financial aid page. They no longer appear for any applicants.

@sfxchris I’m at Stuy. I applied to 15 colleges, but I’ve only been accepted to 3 (two of which are SUNYs), waitlisted to one, and rejected from the other 7. Unknown/unknown has me feeling extremely sick as well, and I don’t know if I have any hope. USC is my top choice :confused:

To the people who were accepted: congrats! When you say priority mail, did it come in your mailbox? Or did a ups guy drop it off? And where in SoCal are you all from? I’m from SoCal too-- Santa Clarita (Six Flags), and I’m worried that it’s bad news-- but I have my events tab still, everything looks normal. Nothing in my admissions documents saying “appeal form” (which I know some people were saying indicated they may have been rejected-- why would you appeal an acceptance)? And I even have in my financial aid documents stuff about appealing financial aid expected contribution, loan change etc. (Does everyone have that)? Please inform! I’m getting stressed, but hoping this is all good news!
Thank you :)

^ USPS Priority Mail in the mailbox (acceptances).

USPS First Class mail (rejections).

San Diego, didn’t show up in the mail today… If anybody else in San Diego County gets theirs, please post it!

@FriedFish
I got into Stuy. we were almost classmates! B-)

I know the feeling. Fordham wait listed me too; turned down the spot. Kids with much lower averages and SATs in my school got in however(?!).

USC was my top choice as well for a while. But something has been telling me I wouldn’t get in. I’m preparing for the worst, hoping for the best

for those of you in southern Cal that got acceptances, were they via Priority Mail or regular old First Class mail?

Don’t lose up… I was unknown/unknown yet accepted to BCs honors program and U Penn… Would be really weird to get rejected at USC after this

@sfxchris Oh man, that’s cool, haha. I’m doing the same – preparing for the worst (not really working right now though), and hoping for the best (aghh unknown/unknown, why did you do this to me?).

@calculusfan
That actually did give me a bit of hope! USC’s acceptance rate is approaching ivy territory though… yikes

Went to USConnect and saw this on my application status page:

“We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.”

This was not visible earlier. Does this mean rejection?
