USConnect- rejection if we don't see "enrollment committment deposit/RSVP?

If I haven't gotten any mail from USC, and when i go on USConnect I don't see any changes (as oppose to those who have gotten letters and seem to be seeing this), does this mean I got rejected?

I didn’t received the DHL international package, but I got the boxes of enrollment and some admitted students activities registration. So I think everyone gets these boxes.Keep refreshing and you probably will get them!

Everyone does not get those boxes. Only admitted students can enroll and RSVP to admitted student events. Congrats!!!

For those who don’t see the boxes, you may still yet.

OMG!! I see the Enrollment Commitment Deposit and RSVP for Admitted Students Program!

I sure hope USConnect is not leading me on… I really want to see the actual letter.

^ They’re not leading you on. So congratulations!!

I was skeptical today when checking my USConnect from school, but when I came home for lunch, I saw the dreaded small white envelope in the mailbox.

Awesome day…

I received the acceptance packet yesterday and still don’t have the enrollment box on USConnect.

Sent from my iPhone using CC

Now I am hoping this is a glitch because I see a Spring admit deadline on my commitment form. I heard that Spring admits had weak objective areas, but had such strong subjective stats that they have to be accepted. USC wants to accept these students, but not drag down their admission stats.

If anything, I thought my objectives (2240 SAT, double 800s on my subject tests, 4.0 UW GPA) are stronger than my subjectives, which in my opinion were only somewhat good.

Did your admission packet say Spring or Fall admit?

Have not received it yet. I really hope I am a Fall admit because as much as I want to go to USC, my parents would urge me to choose a different school–I got accepted to UChicago and they seem to like this school–if I have to be inactive or go to community college the first semester.

BTW, BigKev, you were accepted for the fall, right? What do you see on your USConnect Enrollment commitment form?

Hey guys I’m from the bay area of california and I havent received an acceptance package yet. However when I log into the USConnect I see 2 different boxes called “Enrollment Commitment Deposit” and “RSVP for Admitted Students”. Does this mean they have accepted me, or am I just having false hope?? thanks

^^ Mine shows 5/2/2011 IIRC as my deadline as a fall admit.

I’m shocked that you didn’t get fall admit. With a 2240 SAT, 800 x 2 on SAT II’s and a 4.0 UW, you should’ve gotten it easily. I know they frown on appeals from spring admits, but you might have a valid stance.

so is it the general consensus that if you dont have the rsvp box under the events tab in usconnect, you are rejected?

I only have RSVP…no enrollment deposit box! wat does this mean?

lol found it…ahhh my brain is not functioning…anyways can spring admit tell us wat is the commitment date for u guys?

i can’t find Enrollment Commitment Deposit and RSVP boxes under the EVENTS tab… does that means i am rejected. ?? oh no… !~!!!

Not true! It really depends on what major you applied for (mostly impacted programs get spring admits) and a little bit of luck of the draw; USC uses the fall/spring system as “insurance” against too many incoming freshman accepting admission. They’re counting on kids dropping out, enrolling somewhere else and moving out of the dorms come January to make room for Spring kids. Doesn’t mean you are a bad candidate, you just got dealt a card most people don’t want.

Call Admissions on Monday, ask about getting bumped from Fall to Spring. Also, report back, because I’m sure a lot of people want to know. I’m sure that after May 1st, many Springs will be notified they can come in August!

pretty sure i got rejected at this point

lol it feels bad to be rejected by not seeing the two boxes in the USConnect website. Not like the little envelope is any better though…

are we supposed to see the two boxes on the home tab of USConnect?

I think they’re under the “Events” tab
