I think the more specific you are about what field and what country in particular you’re thinking of, the more helpful the responses can be. In cinema and business and engineering, I believe USC has a pretty good global reputation.

Oh sorry for not including that :P, I was thinking of in terms of business

kid,
Use the search function. You will find threads on this subject including international offices, famous alumni abroad, Marshall Global Business Conferences and other information.

I’ve heard that USC isn’t as recognized as schools such as UCLA globally, but that at the same time, the alumni network is pretty amazing in LA and that many alumni from pretty big companies like Big Four come back to USC to recruit from their school. But that is just what I have read on CC, so maybe take it with a grain of salt! The school seems amazing though :)

USC will be the most powerful U.S. university in Asia over the next thirty years, count on it.

I live in China. Asians love USC. They also love UC Berkeley and UCLA. But for the bigger companies, they tend to recruit directly from private institutions. The USC alumni network is also much stronger than that of UCLA, and there is a wholeeeee lot of USC alumni in China. Personally I feel graduating from USC gives you quite an edge in Asia.

How bout the reputation of nyu vs USC outside of at the US?

‘Outside of the U.S.’ is a pretty large and diverse area, kid.

USC has much more weight in the Pacific Rim. As for Europe, I don’t really know, you would think NYU might have an edge.

I think USC has a better reputation than NYU abroad… I don’t really know a lot about NYU’s programs abroad, but USC works very hard to send its own students all over the globe to promote and reinforce the school’s reputation and USC definitely has a much more diverse/prominent international student population than NYU.
