As you'll have friends and parents to keep in touch with but one phone per suite and questionable cell reception... may I recommend Skype (www.skype.com) -- free computer-to-computer calling over the internet. The voice quality is really clear, i.e. better than landline, even internationally. (My Skype name is the same as my CC name, FYI, and there's a nascent facebook group for the service, too.)

Computer-to-computer calling is good advertising for them. For instance, imagine if none of your friends used AIM. Would you? If it's free for all, more people join, and value is added. Furthermore, they hope you'll get addicted and want to use it to call actual phone numbers instead of usernames ("SkypeOut"), or to attach a semi-permanent phone number to it so that people can call you there from ordinary phones ("SkypeIn").

I just use the built-in mic on mine, so the first thing you should do is see if your computer already has one. You're looking for a hole about 1mm across, so it's easy to not realize it's there. If you've got a voice recorder installed, you can test it that way. Otherwise, you've probably got a jack for a microphone somewhere on the case; mine's right next to the headphone jack.

Yea, my words exactly. Now I'm really glad I got Butler, because I'm attached to my cell and it would kill me not to be able to lie in bed at night talking on it.
