“Since my son is a percussionist, the site I visit most often is Percussion Instruments and Percussion Sheet Music from Steve Weiss Music, which sells everything percussion and gets my purchases to me very quickly.”

I love Steve Weiss. That’s usually where I get my stuff.
However, Columbus Percussion usually has sticks and mallets a bit cheaper than SW if you haven’t checked that site out :)

One can never have too much sax.

What’s this? Violadad posting sax sites? What’s next, sites featuring excessive violins?

Some may say I have far too much interest in the relationship between sax and violins.

I ran across this blog looking for a book recommended by the department chair at one of my son’s auditions. (“Majoring in Music: all the stuff you need to know”).

The blog site has a lot of first hand information from a current student and link for 100’s of additional blogs that music educators have set up to share there experience with teaching music.

I didn’t know where to post this. 3 Violinists and a Cello (I think) show a whimsical enjoyment of their music as well as some noteworthy agility and concentration.

From a link in CC’s financial aid forum [Music Scholarships](http://www.musicscholarships.us/)

I did a very quick run through, and seemed to be a lot of the same that’s available on most of the scholarship search engines such as fastweb, but it is well worth probing.

I’ve been using musictheory.net for quite a while to do eartraining (the chords trainer has been incredibly helpful; it’s like a patient friend who will generate as many chords as you need and asks you to identify them, and even tells you which ones you get most often mixed up).

McGill recently posted videos of many of the Schulich School teachers speaking about their backgrounds and teaching philosophies. For those considering McGill, these are a good way to “meet” some of the instructors. Reading a bio can only tell you so much!

Searching for youtube schulich school of music prof profile along with the prof’s name should lead you to the appropriate video. Be sure to include the “of music” as there are a few Schulich Schools. Interestingly, I can’t find any links to these new videos on the Schulich website.

I have seen similar videos from Oberlin and I’m sure other schools have them, as well.

These interviews are grouped on McGill’s YouTube site:
