<p>Well, that sucks, especially considering the eight-character limit on usernames. Rumor has it there's some guy on campus with the canonical username ganja42... alas, these days are apparently over. Now what are we supposed to sneak into research papers?</p>

<p>I emailed them mid-June and received an automated response back that confirmed receipt but didn't say anything about not accepting username prefs. Nothing seemed out of ordinary, so I guess they changed their policy</p>

i got two emails: first one was the one MIT_Dreamer posted and second from T-Reqs</p>

<p>I only received the one from T-Reqs, so maybe gmail filtered out the other one, or maybe they changed things some time after I sent in my request</p>
