Does anyone have any input on the University of San Francisco/University of Southern California 3/2 Engineering and Physics dual degree program? Difficulty of admission? Pros and cons for a mechanical engineering student. Is there any advantage to having a physics degree before entering engineering? How is USC's M.E. program? Thanks for any input.

2 more semesters to go (hopefully)

I don't know anything about the program, but just as a point of clarification, every 3/2 program I've seen awards both degrees at the same time (after the 5th year). So you don't get a degree after three years.

I'm just pointing that out in case your plans included getting the BS Physics then deciding if engineering is right for you.

In terms of the advantage of having two degrees - there's not really a whole lot in that case. The biggest advantage is having the career services and networking resources of both USF and USC. But when interviewing for an engineering job, people just care about the BS ME and the BS Physics doesn't give you an advantage (doesn't hurt, though).
