Using published essay for supplement

<p>Is it OK if I use an essay I wrote that is published in a book for a supplemental essay?
I wrote that my essay (I wrote the name of it) was published in a book on the Common App extra info section so the admissions committee will probably realize that I reused it. </p>

<p>I didn't cite the name of the book in the essay however.</p>

<p>This is a very peculiar circumstance and I really have no idea. I would ask this in the college admissions subforum. </p>
