USMA versus ROTC

<p>I’ve talked with a West Point grad at an admissions information meeting. He’s a regional manager for 3M I believe…something important like that. Anyways, he told me that a fellow WP grad who he had never met before was looking for work, but he was having a difficult time because of a tough economy and the fact that he was a comp sci major and had only worked with computers throughout his entire career. He was immediately offered a project manager, administrative position for the simple fact that he went to WP. This is prolly 20-30 yrs after graduating from WP. The guy he hired also ended up being one of his most successful project managers.</p>

<p>The reason the WPer you talked to did not encourage him too much was because he wants to make sure the reason you want to go to WP is for the right reasons. It seems a lot of kids go to WP because their dad or coach or whatever wants them to. WP wants kids to go there because they want to.</p>

Just curious, TS, has your son now graduated from the academy?
