USMAPS Qustion

What types of ACT scores have people been getting who have been offered a prep school slot? if ACT was not a reason for acceptance than what was? Low GPA?

I have low ACT and I am interested in if I could get in because my file has been complete. I have not heard anything back yet. I have contacted USMA and my file is still open but have not heard if prep school is an option for me.

Answer: I would assume, as a Prepster, that the average SAT/ACT score is around 1100/1600;21/36; however, there are few cadet candidates with jaw-dropping low SAT/ACT scores, of course, GPA too. If you are recruited athlete or prior service member who enlisted in the Army during junior year of the high school, then you have a much higher chance of getting into the USMAPS.
I would say as long as your "whole" package is very strong, you may want to go for the prep school. Since the class size is not very big, it is very selective when it comes down to the admissions. Don't be upset even though you don't get into the USMAPS because you can always reapply to West Point as long as you are under 23.

Good luck!
