UT Austin Class of 2021 Applicants "Non-Auto Admit"

Just thought we needed this thread!

Timely thread! So, are there any non-auto admits out there who have been admitted?

Nope, still waiting. I looked at the thread from last year and it seemed like non-auto admits weren’t notified until the earliest of November 18 which is November 16 this year so I don’t expect to hear anything until at least then. (Give or take a few days)

So how does the non-auto admit procedure work? I heard that some may not find out that they are in until February. Hoping that Liberal Arts will be sending out decisions soon.

Going by last year, non-auto admits may begin hearing by the end of next week. Fingers crossed and best of luck to all.

does hearing as early as next week apply to OOS applicants as well? Does that include all schools? or just liberal arts?

Based on last year’s thread, OOS also gets notified around the same time. I’m anxiously waiting too.

wait is it this week we may begin hearing back or is it next week (as in week of thanksgiving)?

Last year the first wave of decisions came out on 11/17. The first group may have all been applicants to honors programs who had to submit by 10/15.

Did any of you apply to honors program(s) ? Or just applied for regular admission as OOS ?

I applied to liberal arts honors college by the October 15th deadline (in-state) and have yet to hear anything! Fingers crossed we find out soon

Good Luck @kayleew ! I called and asked about OOS admissions and the lady said they will start reviewing after Dec 1. The wait is painful…

Very few spots are given to OOS…

My daughter accepted last year 11/17 oos not honors (communication) just FYI

S applied for business Honors as OOS. Got granted an interview. Told they only take around 16-18% for BHP OOS. a long shot…

no word yet on admissions… maybe tomorrow?

Sleep on it for a week after Thanksgiving – most likely Dec 1.
I’d love anyone to prove me wrong with some positive news

If you look at https://twitter.com/hashtag/ut21 – just auto-admits. Haven’t seen even one oos yet.

Kevin Martin (texadmissions.com, used to work in UT admissions) said on his blog recently that 95% of admission decisions are released at the end of February. So I really encourage everyone to keep this in mind and not expect any earlier news - the people who get earlier decisions are very rare special circumstances.

Appears some people are hearing today, any non auto-admits that you know of hear yet?

There was one OOS that heard on the other thread
