When I look on myUT direct be a longhorn and click on the links under UT Connections all I get are Gifs of Matthew McConaughey. Anyone else seeing that?

@and2018 what happens when you click on each of those. Thats when I only see Gifs of Matthew McConaughey.
I get those too @Whitman6838
@Whitman6838 I can send my admissions counselor an email. For some reason when I copied it to put it on here it didn’t show the hyperlinks for each item. But for 3 of the hyperlinks I see Matthew McConaughey as well lol
At no point has my son seen an admissions counselor name. We are OOS, maybe only in state can see?!?
On the UT-Direct page, does anyone else have the tab - “My Forty Acres?”
Has anyone heard OOS from the COLA (specifically the English program) or have any information about how difficult it is to get into?
Hi @Meant2B. As an OOS student, I initially had a counselor early in my application process. However, at some point it seems that they have yanked all OOS counselors and now just have a general email. Shows how much they care about OOS students.
@AggieMomhelp I’m ready to debunk. I’ve gotten into my major of choice and I’ve never seen, before or after acceptance, an option to contact my personal admissions counselor. I see on UTDirect (not myStatus) a bar that says “Ask Admissions” and then a list of options to click on the left. There is also my notification of a medical bar, which I cannot clear quite yet. If you have any other questions, feel free to @ me.
what are the chances of a wave tomorrow? I don’t want to get all nervous for
Nothing!
@Bocker99 thanks, nice knowing my son’s not alone lol Wishing you good luck!
@AggieMomhelp I agree with rayosunshyne I have no idea why some have admission counselors and others don’t. I don’t think that if gives my son a better chance of acceptance to UT. Wish it was that simple.
Hi all, I’ve been a lurker on this thread for a while. I’ve been talking with my possible future roommate (also waiting on acceptance from UT) and she told me this morning that she called the UT office of admissions and they confirmed that no decisions are coming out tomorrow and that they are waiting until Feb 1st. Incredibly frustrating after waiting since September, but hopefully this can put some anxiety to rest.
@18class I would say 50/50. It’s either this Friday or next Friday. Admissions is supposed to let all priority applicants know their decisions by Feb 1, and there are two Fridays before that date. (It’s always a Friday.) Check your portal around 4 pm! It doesn’t matter whether or not you are priority, but keep in mind that a lot of these acceptances/rejections will probably priority (Nov. 1) applicants because of that promise. It doesn’t mean anything bad for non-priority people, in my opinion.
I think February 1st means February 1st. I am not expecting a word until February 1 (even though it is not a Friday) for non-auto admits. In UTdirect DD has a Be a Longhorn tab under which is listed the regional admission counselor, a My Bookmarks tab, My Classes tab and a My 40 acres tab, I can see a bevo bucks account (we have not registered for housing) and her check my status still says “in review”. She is a review admit with a snowballs chance of being admitted at UT. I do not think any of these things everyone is trying to read into are an indication of anything.
@Meant2B thanks! Best of luck to your son as well
@mae1999 Thanks for the info - that’s incredibly frustrating that UT is acting like this but at least now we know
To be honest everytime we ask UT if there is a wave they say we cannot confirm nor deny. So really I believe there is a possibility of a wave.
@carrotxcollege My OOS daughter was admitted COLA English major on 12/15. I think they have released very few decisions at this point (her twin is still waiting to hear from Engineering). Good luck!
