Asian girl(if that matters)

Lots of APs and volunteer hours; not many extracurriculars.
By the end of senior year, I would have taken 3 years of comp sci, however, i don’t do any comp sci UIL stuff nor have i made any comp sci achievements.

Do you think I can get into UT’s comp sci school? Also, do you think I can get into any of the CNS honors programs?

All of your stats are great, but not having many extra-circulars can be a let down. The UT Comp Sci is a competitive program looking for students who show interest in programming; therefore, doing extracurricular related to software would help your chances grow.

All in all, I’d say you have a very high chance for acceptance. In terms of the CNS honors, I would say medium.

Ok thanks! Would i still be able to get a good education&job without any CNS honors programs, and would it be harder to get internships and experience stuff if one is not in honors?

@Cqmcxs It’s one of the top 10ish comp sci programs in the country, so ya you’ll still get a stellar education even without the Honors programs. I’m not sure what CNS honors entails since I wasn’t in that school, but usually the honors programs have 3 or 4 classes per major every semester that you can choose from. The majority of your classes will still be regular classes with non-Honors students. It might be a little bit more competitive to get internships outside of the Honors programs, but you really shouldn’t have any problems as long as you make decent grades. There are so many tech companies in Austin that love UT grads (and that have dozens of UT grads already working in them) that I think you would have to be screwing up your interviews or another part of your application pretty badly in order not to get an internship at all.

Thanks for replying!
As for honors, I probably won’t apply for Turing. I would, however, like to try applying to the other CNS honors programs.
Can someone tell me if are they good for comp sci students? It seems to me they are more for bio/chem/medical/etc. students.

Also I would like to apply for Plan II, but if I’m applying to the CNS department, can I still apply for Plan II? I don’t really understand how it works
