UT Austin or Baylor?

I have been accepted to both UT Austin and Baylor, but I'm having a hard time deciding on where to attend this fall. I am a California resident and money is not an issue. What is your opinion and why?

UT. It’s in Austin. Point blank. Best city in Texas.

UT. Super easy choice. UT has EVERYTHING if you’re willing to look. Baylor just is limited and a little bit too homogeneous.

If you like diversity, Austin is for you.

Yes we are biased, but Baylor is honestly not even close. A good school nonetheless, but not when compared to UT.

I lived in Waco for two years with the plans of transferring to Baylor. I ended up in College Station but after going to SXSW a few weeks ago, I regret not choosing UT after I was accepted for the Fall. Baylor is cool, definately not diverse, EXPENSIVE, really good facilities but Waco is extremely boring in comparison to Austin or even CS…

Hey now, Baylor is a great school.

Yes, UT is better academically. However, Baylor is still fantastic. You should really visit both and see which one you like better.

I go to Baylor, and if i were you i’d choose UT. The opportunities are very limited here and the people are pretty much the same. It’s hard to find your niche esp. if you don’t plan on going greek. It also seems like UT has better academics all around. Though you really should try and visit both to see which one feels more like home to you. Sure Baylor is a great school, but UT offers far more opportunities and hey, it’s Austin.

How could Baylor even be in the running next to UT? You must be joking unless you are a law student or a serious southern Baptist? Austin and Waco aren’t that far apart, geographically speaking, so visit both, since money is not an issue. You’ll see.

UT without a doubt. Don’t regret choosing Baylor for the rest of your life. Yes, that was overly dramatic, but necessary for you to understand what you would be missing out on. :)

I am a UT student and if I could go back in time; I would go to any school other than UT. However, there are many people who are in my honors program who love the school. Just weigh all the factors before you make a choice. Also make sure you talk to people who are currently in the program in which you wish to enroll in.

Definitely, definitely visit both schools and see which one you like best. UT is a great school and is objectively better academically than Baylor, but honestly, I wish I had looked around a bit more and applied to a few more places. In retrospect, I’m not quite so sure why I was so determined to come here, haha.

The problem lies with you, not UT

UT for sure.
You cannot beat Austin, and the location of UT is worth going to the school alone. Plus, better athletics, more diversity, and AUSTIN AUSTIN!

In my honest opinion, the problem lies with the school being overrated and overhyped

Oh are the classes not challenging enough for you?

Are your peers not smart enough for you?

Are your professors not accomplished enough for you?

Overrated? UT isn’t a trend, it’s a school, and a damn good one.

Both are good schools. UT get more high performing students because of auto admit and lower tuition. Austin is a nicer city compared to Waco.

Baylor is expensive even after scholarships, otherwise it would attract more top 10%ers as it is small and they do hand holding and guidance well.

UT is huge and you can get lost in that crowd. Baylor has a beautiful campus but it is a dry campus and not much partying like UT. I say visit both to see which one is a better fit for you.
