Hello! I am a student from Georgia who got accepted to Umich for general engineering and to UT Austin for electrical engineering. I have visited both campuses and although I like Michigan’s campus better, I do enjoy the warm weather or Texas. I do not qualify for financial aid at either school, but I believe my parents are willing to pay either one. I am really torn because I like both schools but I just cannot make a decision. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on either school that might help me make a decision. (I am also aware that there is already a thread on this topic but I did not get alot out if it).
Thanks
Sometimes its good to get out of the comfort zone and try new areas. As you said, you would likely be more comfortable in the Texas climate. However, you felt more at home so to speak at UMich campus.
As a fellow midwesterner, I say, come up to UMich, try winter out for a few years. You might just learn to love it!
Honestly though, both are solid schools and there is no wrong choice. Congrats!
Do you want to study EE ?
That sounds like a tough decision! I’m biased because I go to UT and one of my friends is in EE (it’s difficult, but it pays off.) I would probably watch some videos from students at either school to see what you prefer, but I would definitely recommend UT! The campus is big and friendly, and it’s one of those places where everyone fits in. If you want to party, you can, and if you want to put your head down and work hard, lots of students do that too.
Where did you end up going? My son is in an exact same situation right now and we can use some perspective
