Convince me to go to UT over the others for engineering.

I know GT is a wonderful school, but that part of downtown Atlanta has much to be desired. I grew up in Atlanta (I’m a Mom to a UT student) and I just don’t see that campus having anywhere near the positive, upbeat vibe at UT. I don’t know much about UVA, except that I have visited and it is one of the most beautiful campuses out there. Austin and Charlottesville are VERY different, so it begs the question, what are you looking for in campus life? And what type of engineering for those folks out there who know the ins and outs of the programs?

Program is important, but if you life is just “blah” outside of class, then how happy will you be in the long run. Also look at networking situations. I know UT has a very strong after graduation network, but again, not too sure about UVA or GT.
