UT Dallas Class of 2025-Admissions/Discussions Thread

What are the levels for AES this year?

Don’t have any official information. On Reddit, in the UTDAllasAdmissions group, I am seeing 16k, 13k, 10k, 8k, 5k, and 3k. It also seems those who were admitted before Nov. 1st, probably got better terms. Just my conjecture.

Does UTD accept by major or by college?

My friend and I were accepted by major.

Thanks! UT accepts by major though, right?

You’re welcome! I have no idea about UT Austin; still waiting :woman_shrugging:

That seems to be the chatter online, but I honestly don’t fully understand the system.

contacted UTD regarding my application and finally got a decisive email back in under a day saying that my file was reviewed and i was admitted. i had contacted admissions by phone twice and they ensured me that my application was complete and there were no holds. not sure what caused the 9 week decision time but if anyone else is in the same position, admissions was very responsive by email.

was the AES announcement made available on “my communications” on UTD portal (galaxy)?

I’m not sure about where it is in the portal.

It is in the “Communication” tab, along with your acceptance letters and such. It came out on Wednesday.

Hey guys. I’m a us citizen applying from abroad and I submitted my applicatiun 11/30. Submitted transcripts and it reached them by dec 16th, but they took over a month to process it. Finally got eveyrhting completed by jan 17th. Still no update
just says undergraduate commiteee review. Any ideas in when I can expect something? Overall, it’s been 2 months. Does it usually take a long time for Intl applicants? I applied through ApplyTexas btw

You’re not alone. My daughter applied 12/1 and still has her application in review. They received all required docs the same day. I called UTD last week and they said a decision should be coming “very soon”. My daughter is considered an OOS appilicant, even though we are TX residents, because she attends high school in another state.

You could also follow up for the AES scholarship by email. I believe you’d be more than eligible for a significant amount.

Did anyone admitted get the need financial aid offer?
Where do you see it?

Yes, we did. Ours is under the communications tab in the Applicant Center. There is a separate letter for the AES award, but the AES award is also noted in the financial aid letter.

Thank you

Glad to know someone is in the same boat as me. the entire process is so anxiety inducing and it doesnt help when colleges that are rolling admissions take quite some time too. I was beginning to worry that soemthing happened and they just didnt further evaluate my app

My DC received UT Dallas UG acceptance letter in the communication tab in The Galaxy Online Portal. The letter says

“Please accept your offer of admission and explore other next steps to prepare for your enrollment
”
Three questions.
1.There is no info about scholarship or aid as such. My DC is National Merit SemiFinalist. Please advise.
2.In the galaxy application center->my application page; there are two options “Accept” “Decline”, will choosing “Accept” trigger scholarship or aid info?
3.Will choosing “Accept” is like binding/commitment?
Thanks.

This might help - Email received on 1/27 -

"The Academic Excellence Scholarship (AES) committee has reviewed and awarded students admitted by November 30th. Due to the holistic nature of our admission review process this year, we continue to review students admitted after November 30th who completed their application file in time to meet the priority deadline.

Recipients can view and accept their awards by logging into Galaxy. To view awards, navigate to your ‘Applicant Center’ or ‘Orion Student Center’, and click the ‘Financial Aid’ tile.

Warm Regards,

The AES Team
