Hi everyone, I have been accepted to UT Dallas for Computer Science. I am also a current National Merit Semi-Finalist. When applying to Collegium V, I selected that I was National Merit and the current status is:
CV Status
App Complete - National Merit
About how long does it take to get a decision about the honors college and what percentage of National Merit Semi-Finalist/Finalists get in?
All National Merit kids who want to participate will be allowed in, is my understanding.
@chercheur is right. If you apply, you will accepted.
@chercheur @GTAustin Thanks! Do you guys know when I will officially be accepted?
I think you should see something by the end of January if not sooner. Most of the administrative offices open on 1/2, so I would give them 2 to 4 weeks. Being a NMSF (and soon to be NMF) it is an automatic acceptance upon your request.
@GTAustin Alright thank you!
@microguy123 Did you actually fill out the CV application? When my son (also Natl. Merit Semifinalist) went through the steps he got a message that made it sounds like he was automatically accepted without completing the application (doesn’t remember the exact wording).
Nevermind. I found this on the UTD National Merit FAQ’s.
“I have been admitted to the National Merit Scholarship Program at UT Dallas. Does that mean I am automatically a member of the Collegium V Honors Program?
Yes. If you would like to participate in the Collegium V Honors Program, send an email to collegiumv@utdallas.edu, identify yourself as a National Merit Finalist, and we will add you to the roster.”
@kforty2 they sent me an email saying that since I’m NM semi-finalist, I’m automatically admitted to CV
