I got into honors and I'm on the waitlist for Plan II, I also will get about half my tuition payed for through a scholarship I got, so UT will be around 6K a year.

Michigan has the fourth best polsci program in America, so I'm assuming that means much more prestige and much more opportunity. I am not, however, in the honors program. But I would apply after my freshmen year. Michigan OOS will cost me about 50K a year.

Money aside, which is better?

Now putting money into perspective, which is better? Money isn't a HUGE deal for my family, but obviously it is a factor.

50k a year for an undergraduate education is obnoxious. UT is in the state capital, I’m sure there are many great opportunities for polisci majors right at the doorstep. Forget the prestige, an undergrad for 36k total from a reputable school is better than one for 200+ grand at a school that is slightly better.

your probably better off going to UT/ and its a plus if your republican (just saying since we have alot of republicans )

if you want to get into Politics in Texas go to UT, now as far as money go to UT. 6k a year is not bad at all

i don’t want to live in texas. i’m a straight up liberal haha and i want to go to yale or harvard law school. i know plan II is fantastic but i don’t know how the liberal arts curriculum at UT outside of plan II is. If I don’t get off the plan II waitlist is UT really the same as michigan? Michigan is ranked fourth in the country in terms of polisci, is it not worth the money? I also can maybe go to Vandy, Emory, and Chicago (all waitlisted), are any of those schools worth it over UT?
