I am in quite a predicament, because I recently got accepted into the UT PACE program, but I had been set on going to A&M prior to discovering my acceptance to the PACE program. I want to major in biology or biomedical sciences. At A&M I am currently accepted into the biomedical science major while in ut PACE I would need to start off as undeclared and work my way into a bio major... but UT is my dream school. opinions?

I also must consider that all of my AP credits I have received throughout high school may not be credited.

pace is not offered to all students. ****

PACE guarantees you can get into UT next year, but it does not guarantee you’ll get into your major, right?
What are the requirements for you to get into a bio major at UT, are they stringent?
A&M definitely seems like the safest option.
You shouldn’t take AP classes for the credit, but for the course rigor that will prepare you well for college. MANY top students actually choose to “retake” a college class for which they may have received credit if they plan to major in it, so that they get a GPA boost and are sure to master the basics at the highest level. So if you took CalcBC it’d be common to take Calc2 anyway (NOT calc1 let’s not push it :p). This is especially common among premeds and engineering students.
