UT's Pharmacy school is a prfessional school so it works differently then the engineering school. For the school of engineering you apply like any of the other normal school. Usually highschool class rank is the biggest factor determining if you get in to the school of engineering or not. Pharmacy school works kind of like a medical or dental school, you have to complete prerequisites, but for Pharmacy you dont need a actual bachelors just the 60 or so credit hours completed. You need a good GPA, pharmacy experiance, do good in the interview, and some other stuff. Ut does offer a pre-pharmacy option in the school of natural sciences which helps you get the reuired prerequistes done in 2 years. Getting in the school of Natural sciences should not be nearly as hard as getting into the school of engineering.

What UThopeful mentioned about pharmacy experience is important. I have a friend with all A's for all classes and one B in OChem2 and she did not even receive an interview. We speculate it may have been her lack of actual experience in the field.

so while you are in school, you should work part time in a pharmacy or something?

You can get experiance from working a a tech, shadowing a pharmacist, or volunteering at a hospital. A combination of working and doing some volunteering would probably be best. UT's pharm school is just extremely competitive. You would probably be looking into applying to all the texas Pharm schools when that time comes assuming you live in texas.

If I'm planning on finishing the prerequisite in two years, is it still possible to major in Plan II?

Also, does enrolling in UT as an undergrad help when applying to the School of Pharmacy?
