I was accepted at UT and Brown. For UT I have a 5k a semester scholarship and interviews for Terry and Texas exes scholarahips. For brown, I havent completed my idoc packet but the financial aid calculated I would be expected to pay 28k a year. Where should I go for my biochemistry major premed? Does an ivy league school matter? Sorry my English is bad. I live in Texas.

Forgot to specify- UT Austin.

I think going to Brown would be worth it, even if it’s more. 28k is a good deal for an Ivy, I’m paying more than that for a UC. It depends on your major though, UT could have a really good department for you. In general though, I’d say definitely Brown!

Does premed matter that much?

UT-Austin is an excellent school. If it were me, I would save the money you would have spent on Brown and use it for medical school.

Thanks, I also think the competition will be much more overwhelming at Brown which might affect my medical school acceptance. I think UT might even be better for biochem than Brown anyway.
