UTD full ride versus UT Austin

So here's my situation:

I'm considering doing pre-med.
I got a full ride plus a stipend from UT Dallas and will get a car if I go there.
I got into UT Austin with an Undeclared major and will have to pay state tuition if I go there.
I have 2 years worth of college credits so I should be able to finish my undergraduate within 2 or 2.5 years hopefully.
I will live on campus at either college but UTD is closer to where I live.

My question is...
When I apply to med schools, will the name of the school (UTD versus UT Austin) make a big difference?

Basically, I'm trying to decide between going to a lesser known school and saving money for med school or going to a well known school but having to pay full tuition. Does it make sense to go to the lesser known school just to save the money? Will it affect whether or not I get into med schools?

definately utd with a full ride that is a good 10-15K your saving per year so when you graduate you will be about 50k less in debt

Where do you want to go to med school? UT-D is a good school and if you want to go to somewhere in Texas like UT Southwestern or Baylor, those med school know that. However, if you want to go to a top med school, the prestige of UT-D vs. UT Austin might make a difference.

I was actually talking to my academic counselor about this and she said UT-D is actually an amazing school, especially for pre-med. She said its like the best kept secret of Texas universities and, even though not every med school may know about them, they’ll prepare you tremendously for your MCAT.

Plus an extra $50K is nothing to sneeze at.
