<p>My daughter is trying to decide between the University of Texas College of Fine Arts and the University of Michigan School of Art + Design. Her interest in studio art, but she does not yet have a particular medium upon which she would like to focus. We would be interested to hear the pros and cons of the two schools versus each other. We have visited both campuses and have a good handle on how the two universities compare in general. But, we don't have as good a handle on how the two art programs compare.</p>
<p>I also visited both art schools, and currently attend U of M A+D. U of M highly encourages students to explore all different mediums (and pretty much require it), and you get a broad range of instruction in both 2D and 3D mediums. In making my decision, I felt that the U of M facilities were superior (though not by a lot), as well as preferring Ann Arbor to Austin.</p>
