UToledo Bioengineering BS/MD Program

hey guys i got accepted in the eng/md program, wondering if anyone who is attending wants to room, just message me and i will facebook you or somethin

jashbela,

Congrad! Please share your stats and list other BA/BS-MD programs that you applied!

Thanks.

i don't know if anyone's interested but for Bacc/MD program, 28 applied, 10 interviewed, and 7 offered position. and it's only second year...

i think the biggest advantage is that you get to waive MCAT exam, but the downside is that the program's so new and it will cost an arm and a leg. AND i don't think i like the campus that much.

if anyone has gotten into Bacc/MD program, let me know.

im in too! but now its between this and u of m. hey jashbela, i though u didnt apply to this program?

does anyone know if during the bachelor degree part of the program, we'll be living in the main campus? for eng/md in college of engineering, and for bacc/md in college of arts and science? Also, do we pay approx. $37,000 for those years too? (although i assume that we're technically studying with other regular admission people, who pay less)

My understanding is that we attend the University of Toledo as regular undergraduate students for the first four years and meet all of the requirements needed to attend the medical school. So I assume tuition will be the same as any other student until medical school where tuition will jump up to 37,000.

Also, I was wondering if we get housing benefits. Is there honors housing at UToledo?

yeah i heard there is, but i also heard that it's worse than regular dorm for some reason... i should check that out. anyways, i think i'll accept and if i get into neo then do some serous thinking and maybe cancel...

I think the advantage of NEOUCOM is that you save two years and also, bioengineering is a pretty hard major. It won't be an easy four years at Toledo.

definitely. thankfully, i didn't do the engineering. also that no mcat sounds sooo tempting... and i think the medical university of ohio (MUO) is far better med school than neo.

I think longterm, University of Toledo will be the better option. But then again, I have heard that NEUOCOM grads get competitive residencies. I just need know! I can't wait till next week!

completely agree with you. everything'll be easier if i just didn't get into neo... well, the advisor for the program at ut said that i can cancel whenever i want after i send in the reply letter. so i think i'll just send it in, and get the letter from neo, and then cancel if i do feel like it. good luck!

To Those Who Got Accepted,

Please share your stats as the followings:
State of residency
SAT1
ACT
SAT2
AP
HS Rank
Essay, Recommendation letters, Interview
ECs
List of BA/BS-MD program that you applied
Others .......

Thanks,

jashbela, got anything to say you stupid shyt

ppl in the Bacc/MD program or those that got accepted, what were your GPA and ACT, i got no interview so im curious about the other smarties

GPA: 3.89
ACT: 30

i got into Bacc/MD with that stat. i know it's not great, but i think the interview played a big part in it. the second interviewer seemed to like me so much and we talked for like an hour...

grapayaji, u were supposed to say u got 35 lol cuz now ur score is similar to mine and it makes me feel like I should have applied, oh well, good luck to u and have fun

haha sorry for being so insensitive. you def should have applied.
but i hope you get into the college of your dream.

thanx for being sweet, best of luck to u
