I think you have a terrific shot!!! But I have seen people with your stats get denied too. UVA must have a weird application process. Your unweighted is great though so I think that will definetely work in your favor. Good luck!

UVA in state should be a match even if you are from NOVA. My son was admitted EA last year (loves it) from NOVA and in-state students with your stats generally get in. I think UVA EA will be especially numbers driven this year (especially for in state) due to the huge volume of EA applicants (about 14,000).

Interesting to hear posters talk about UVA being unpredictable. At least at my son’s HS there are few surprises (about 30 students go to UVA from there each year) and if you fall into the top 7-8% or so with a 2050 plus SAT you are usually in. The Naviance web site confirms this. W&M however is a bit more unpredictable per Naviance and some of my son’s friends.

I would put you as a low match, but not quite a safety. Solid UW/W GPA and SAT score. As the others said, being in state is huge. I would be a bit surprised if you were declined.

UVA is a match, and you are around 90% likely to be accepted. Your rank and residency are exactly what UVA needs to fill its class. However, there is the odd waitlist, or even denial, for in-state students. From what I have seen, surprise results like these usually happen to applicants from NoVa (complete conjuncture) who are female (absolute guesswork) because females are slightly over-represented in the applicant pool. Admittedly, the disparity is not as much as W&M.

As for the subject tests, it is a little late to be worrying about those. I think you will be fine. If you were an engineering major or are pre-med a second would be useful. If you really want to take an easy one in January (it may be too late to register), you could take Lit or Math II. It is slightly unnecessary because you are not exactly a borderline candidate.

There are no gurantees. As JMU says: “I have seen people with your stats get denied.”
I’m looking at our Naviance now, several people with SATs over 2250 were rejected and your W GPA seems to match my D’s school’s average. (But then again, we are located in that part of Virginia that can’t be named.) ;)

As far as the Subject Tests go, I thought I remember reading that U-Va “recommends” two. Why don’t you ask the Admissions office? Good luck.
