UVA or U Mich

Wahoomb, Is your transfer question directed towards me?

I was asking hattrickty, r u also trying to transfer wolfpackfan?

hey guys,

thanks so much for your opinions…

I am international student and so I can’t visit them before May 1st, as my final IB exams start on May 4th.

I’ll add that UVa is US$6000 cheaper than Michigan per year (including tuition, room and board)…

I am really stuck between these two universities… I just need something which can sway me towards one of them.

Viru4, I made my decision last night. I am not going to disclose my decision so as not to bias your selection process. I am going to offer my impressions of the two schools (hopefully they are objective), but the final decision should be yours based on your preferences.

Both are excellent schools; you are not looking at black and white contrast rather at different shades of grey.

Both are located in great college town – may be Ann Arbor is slightly better.

Weather – Definitely Charlottesville over Ann Arbor.

Student population more diverse at Ann Arbor.

Campus – I liked UVa slightly better even though the Law Quad at UM is awesome.

Both have great school spirit.

UVa is a smaller school than UMichigan.

Both have great business schools. Ross is probably little better known (especially internationally). Ross has both undergraduate and MBA program. At UVa, McIntire provides undergraduate business degree whereas MBA is at Darden. Both have great new facilities. Ross facility is contemporary and has a corporate appearance; UVa has more traditional facility with appearance of an university building.

Good luck with your decision.

I’d like to add to no. 8. We have just opened a new building a few years ago and their facilities are superb and state-of-the-art. All study rooms are equipped with an LCD and we have two trading rooms. It’s very, very nice if you have been there.
