Hey guys:
I'm a senior from Maryland and I was wondering if I should even bother applying to either UNC or UVA. I'm already applying to six other schools (UMD, Clemson, Tulane, UMiami, TCU, Delaware) and I want to see if it is worth for me to apply to one of these two schools. What kind of chance do I have getting admitted to these colleges considering I'm OOS? Here are my stats:

Unweighted GPA: 3.98 (only one B)
Weighted GPA: 4.4 (out of 5)
Rank: 14/286

Combined SAT: 2000
Math: 730
Reading: 650
Writing: 620

SAT Subject Test:
Math II- 720
Spanish- will take it in December

ACT: 29
The only thing I did well on was Math (34).

Senior Year:

*1 Honors, 4 AP (Spanish, American Gov, Calc BC, Physics C)

I go to a private, Catholic school so my religion class takes up a class that could be AP or Honors.

AP Scores:
Psych- 5
Calc AB- 5
US History- 3

EC's:

Missions Trip to Puerto Rico: I went with a group of youth from my church to Puerto Rico to engage in community service. While I was there, we painted the sanctuary of a local church, organized a VBS for the children, and visited a local nursing home to help the elderly. I had an amazing time and I plan on going back next summer to help in even more ways.

Senior Peer Mentor: I visit a freshman homeroom a few times a week and help the new students adjust to high school. I also teach them study and test taking tips.

Volunteering to help with Special Olympics: I helped run the annual Special Olympics Soccer Tournament in Maryland. I was a time-keeper and score-keeper in addition to helping set up the soccer fields.

Helping out at a Nursing Home: I volunteer regularly at my aunt's nursing home. I help organize papers and drawers. Also, I chat with the members of the home and help move them to where they want to go. I serve them lunch and sometimes assist them with eating their food. Lastly, I participate in and help with the daily games and exercises that are provided for the members.

Volunteering at a Soup Kitchen: Several times I have been to Elizabeth House and Sarah's House with my family to help prepare and serve food to the hungry and homeless. We also sit with some of the people and talk with them so that they have someone to talk to and feel more comfortable. I absolutely love helping here because it overjoys me to see their faces brighten up when I talk with them and give them a warm, delicious meal.

Any opinions are greatly appreciated, THANKS!!
