Hi, I am applying to the University of Virginia very soon but I just discovered that they strongly recommend 2 SAT II subject tests. As none of the other colleges I am applying to need or recommend them, I did not take any subject tests. I have a strong ACT score (33) and I was only going to submit that for a score as you can choose between ACT plus writing or SAT. Now my only option is to go forward and apply without subject tests because it is far too late to take any.
Is it still possible for me to get in even without subject tests? I have a strong academic record, 4.9 gpa, captain of rowing team, lots of extracurriculars, International Baccalaureate program, AP classes, etc. but I'm worried about this negatively affecting my application as they strongly recommend it. Any advice?
