Did somebody say "dean of the day?" I guess that is on the VIP menu.

McIntire acceptance rate was around 5%, I am not sure what A-school is.

I definitely messed up with presenting myself better. I am taking two maths and two sciences this semester and a total of 18 credits, for which they will just have to guess my grade. I had the midterm grades which were all A's but when I called the admissions that same lady told me that they would not look at them and that they will just look at the final grades. I should have just them anyway. Now it is definitely too late, it takes me about a week to get everybody's signature. =(

Neboola... not sure where you got that number... usually it's between 17-25%... someone posted on one of the UVA threads on this board that they are taking 40 of 220 applicants this year. That's about 18%. The A-schools has a lower acceptance rate than that. My point was... that one's chance wouldn't improve significantly by applying to McIntire instead of the A-school. Meanwhile, applying to A&S would probably improves one's chances a lot. I'd feel a lot less nervous if I were applying to A&S.

You are right though, low chances are low chances. Both programs are very difficult to get into, the a-school probably just has less seats to offer.

My bad guys, I messed up with the numbers. For some reason I thought that 600 people applied. Definitely was not trying to do it on purpose. Sorry! Forgive me! Hope I did not give anybody a hear attack.

I applied to McIntire, and my status finally changed!

Note:
Your application status is not available at this time. Regular decision applicants were able to view their decisions from April 1-April 8. Fall transfer applicants will be able to view decisions on May 1.

Regular Decision: Temporarily unavailable due to technical maintenance
Fall Transfer: May 1

I wonder if we find out by mail before or after May 1st...i think waiting to know is worse than being rejected, cuz I can't get myself to do anything besides mope around wondering if I am getting in or not. anyone have the same problem?

unlike what they advertise, last year I found out by mail before the online status changed.

BTW, getting waitlisted is worse than geting rejected. It just continues the suffering!!! If this happens, be sure to call admissions to find your place so you'll know realistically. I now look at the waitlist as a southern way of saying you're rejected.

What a horrible experience that was... I walked around for a week in a daze. It didn't help my finals much.

Hopefully, things will be much different this year!
