UVA vs. Duke

Im not sure where to post this, but can anyone speak on the differences between UVA and Duke (social life, academics, reputation, "feeder school, student body)?

I visited both and i love em both. Im intrested in either science or buisness, and each has a top tier program in one (again making my choice harder.) What in your opinion is a better undergrad school?

Are you instate or out of state?

out of state

From an APDA debater's point of view:

UVA is the southernmost hosting school on the American Parliamentary Debate Association circuit. Duke however, competes on the circuit without hosting their own tournament. I'm sure they know of the relative shortage of southern tournaments given all the tournaments that get hosted in places like New England (MIT or Yale) or New York (NYU, Columbia, etc.), and given that tournaments start on Friday afternoons, longer travel times mean more missed classes. Till Duke stops being such a parasite, it is the "lower" school in my book. ;)

Tiny small-print disclaimer: Do not take this post seriously.

ok and from a non apda perspective?

Charlottesville>>>Durham

Greek life big on both campuses but seems to dominate social scene more at Duke

Duke is more diverse geographically (UVa about 2/3 in-state)

Good econ programs at both, undergrad business only at UVa, better out of state connections in business (esp in NY) coming out of Duke

Generally stronger sciences at Duke
