I got into both rutgers and uva engineering and am not completely sure with how they compare for the program. These are the only schools I’ve heard back for financial aid but I also got into Delaware and Georgia tech. I am in state for Rutgers but oos for UVA. With scholarships/financial aid, UVA would cost $2,479 more than Rutgers yearly. I am planning on majoring in chem eng as of now but that could eventually change. Im accepted into the honors college for rutgers if that changes anything. Would the extra cost be worth going to UVA over rutgers? i plan on waiting for my financial aid details and regular decisions to come back before making a decision.
Is this the difference without including loans? Sometimes people confuse loan offers with financial aid.
Yeah i got loans from both but that is the difference not including the loans, w loans uva would be cheaper yearly but im not considering that as heavily since they will still have to be payed back
Not sure why VT isn’t being considered here. In state in VA, most kids who want engineering, have VT over UVA. VT is top 15 in engineering.
I applied to VT but dont hear back for a few months
How about GT? They’re ranked #4 in engineering!
I also got into GT but didnt hear back for financial aid yet! Not sure if I will get much since they are more merit based than UVA which is said to meet 100% of demonstrated financial need. Will prob get that next month or april
I would personally choose UVA since it’s a superior school and it isn’t that much more. This is if you are deciding between Rutgers and UVA. As others have said, GT and VT should be great for engineering
Thank you! I am just waiting to hear back from VT and waiting for financial details from GT
