UVa vs UC Berkeley vs Carnegie Mellon

I was admitted to all three and can’t decide where to go. I am a prospective business major. I was also admitted to USC, UMichigan, and UCLA but I’m not really considering them. Pros and cons of those schools? Cost is not an issue, as I live in NY and I’m OOS for UVa and UC Berkeley.

UCB does not admit frosh to the business major; those entering as frosh need to apply later (usually in their second year) to the business major.

Did any of the other schools give you direct admission to the business major?

@ucbalumnus I’m aware of that. I would also need to apply after sophomore year for McIntire at UVa. I got direct admission into Tepper (CMU).

Bump

Have you checked how hard it is to get into McIntire? If it’s very competitive, then it might be wiser to go with Tepper – less pressure of worrying if you’ll get into the Bschool. Getting into Haas is quite tough so I’d pick Tepper over Haas unless you want to be in the Bay.

You’ve probably seen these but just in case:

@insanedreamer My biggest issue with Carnegie Mellon is if I at some point decide to not pursue business, because I’m not 100% set on business. I feel that Berkeley and UVa are more well rounded schools.

Yeah - good to have options in that case.

Why did you drop UMich from the running? Excellent B-School plus tons of other options.

Between UCB and UVa - I think you should look at whether you want west coast or east coast for internships, possible jobs after college, etc. You can’t go wrong with either school really. Have you visited either?
