Hi, I am deciding between UVA or VCU. As of now, I would like to study communications. I am not sure what subfield I would like to go into yet but I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to which college has a more options for this major. I know that VCU has a very good communications school, but I assume that UVA would have a broader range of options. My current GPA is a 3.7 and I am an instate student. THanks so much for the help!

Undergad communications rankings are difficult to find, but I would say UVA has superior options to VCU in pretty much every area.

UVA is a much stronger school academically, but it doesn’t have a Communications school/department/major. UVA students interested in the field tend to major in Media Studies or English.

If you are interested in moving to the West coast believe it or not but San Diego state has one of the top 5 ranked communication programs west of the Mississippi. Its a solid school as well that has improved its academics astonishingly in the last ten years.
