A student team representing the University of Virginias McIntire School of Commerce took first place in the National Student Advertising Competition, sponsored by the American Advertising Federation and held in San Francisco June 11-13.

After finishing second two years in a row at the national AAF competition, a student team advised by Jack Lindgren, professor of banking and area coordinator for marketing, topped teams from16 other finalist universities. Each of the finalists won its regional contest in a series of competitions involving almost 200 universities nationwide.

This achievement is a tremendous outcome for the students (actually now recent graduates), their families, Professor Lindgren, and all Comm School faculty and staff who taught and supported the champs, said McIntire Dean Carl Zeithaml.

The presenting team included Jennie Averbook, Zoe Chen, Erin Fromherz, Karen Land and Cathy Sposato, all of whom graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce in May.

Hey Untilted. It was nice meeting you the other day. Were you able to go to the Coldplay show?

Jack Lindgren rocks! He's the most liberal professor you can ever meet in the commerce dept. He picks on people that go to sleep in class, leave the class early and randomly points at people asking them questions expecting an answer!

Btw, these group of girls gave their marketing presentation, promoting postal box service, in our COMM180 class this past spring semester. It was rather energetic and informative.

it was very nice to meet you too, Globalist. good beer and good music.

i took off a day from work to wait in line for the radiohead show. got the tickets after 10 hours of waiting.:)
