Here's a description:

We are the UCLA Advertising and Marketing Team

But you can call us Ad Team. Each year, we compete in the National Student Advertising Competition, organized by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Over 150 schools nationwide create a comprehensive advertising campaign proposal for the event sponsor, which in the past has included Hallmark, Toyota, the New York Times, Daimler-Chrysler, the Florida Tourism Board, and Yahoo. In the 10 years that we have competed, we have continually finished in the top tier of schools, including our national first place finish in 1999 and several regional first place finishes. (Bitter editor's note: we were robbed at regionals last year by 1/10th of a point)

Ad Team offers a wealth of experience and opportunities to undergraduates interested in a number of fields, including advertising, marketing, public relations, statistical research, e-commerce, and design.

But mostly it's just lots of fun.

Hey Allie, I was wondering how many people are chosen for each sub-team? I think I might go to the meeting tomorrow.

The team as a whole is usually around 40-45 people and subteams are usually divided pretty equally. Creative may have more people than the other teams, but it depends on the quality of the applicants.
