I've been accepted to University of Vermont, University of Massachusetts - Amherst, and University of Connecticut. I've also been accepted to UMASS Honors College. I could have been accepted to UVM Honors College if I had applied early (I didn't realize that was something that came with applying early), If I go to UVM I will apply for the Honors College for my sophomore year. Anyway, I'm interested in majoring in science. I selected biology, but this may change later.I'm also interested in continuing playing music in college and want to know which of these has the most supported music ensembles/department. In terms of money, UVM is the cheapest as I am eligible for instate tuition (though it does have a comparatively high instate tuition - UVM instate is cheaper than some schools out-of-state). I would estimate UMASS to be about 5k more per year and UCONN about 10k more per year. Money is not a huge problem - I can afford each of these schools - but it may influence my decision. If I was convinced that UCONN or UMASS provided a substantially greater college experience then I would pay the extra money, otherwise I would save it and go to UVM. I'm leaning towards UVM or UMASS. I know UCONN is more highly ranked, but I haven't heard much of their science program. I also know UCONN is in a isolated location (what's Storrs like?). Most people would say go for your state school due to cost and close proximity to home. In my case, UVM is not much cheaper and is actually farther from where I live than both UMASS and UCONN. Academics are the most important part of what I'm looking for, but I also want to attend a school that promotes active students (lots of extracurriculars and student-run organizations), has lots of resources (possible research opportunities), and has school spirit & overall happy students. I know I'd be happy with myself at any of these schools, but I want to know: "Which one BEST suits my criteria?" Any advice that could be helpful in my decision would be greatly appreciated.

I’d go with UMass Honors. The price difference isn’t much but the HOnors advantages will be worth it.

I agree. And I think Honors at UMass just opened a new dorm. Better research opps for honors students at UMass, too.
