I’ve been accepted to both UVM and URI but can’t choose which one to go to. Which college would you recommend and why?
Northern Vermont & southern RI are very different places. I would think visiting each would help you figure out which environment you like better.
UVM is overall a better school. The faculty is largely happy so the turnover rate is low. The students are largely happy and the vibe is good. It is located in a very nice town. Its honors college is well structured and resourced if you can get in. Of course, you also need to think about your potential majors. URI may have stronger majors that fit your need.
If money is no object then I would choose the one with a stronger curriculum for your major and better recruitment opportunities. You want to attend the college that is visited by your potential employers. That will make the job search much easier for you.
I’m double majoring in English and Art but URI is giving me a better financial aid package than UVM. I’ve visited both and feel as though UVM is a better fit for me and would look better when applying for jobs but URI is a lot cheaper
Sounds like you like UVM better, but can you afford it without taking out a lot of loans? Money becomes a major factor if one school will put your family in a bad position financially.
UVM
Money is huge issue in deciding cause with UVM, I’ll be stuck with a lot of loans but at URI, I’ll be stuck with less loans. It’s still a catch 22
