Hi all,

I’m currently in the process of applying to U Dub, and I have a few questions:

  1. UW asked me to “Please explain what (I) have been doing since (I was) last enrolled in school.” I took a gap year in the year after graduating from high school, and I’m wondering which would be preferred by UW/colleges in general - a list of activities I have been engaged in, or an active discussion on the motivations behind each endeavour, and how each one enriched me. I leaned towards the former, but will be open to amending my essay.

  2. I’m writing my Journal of Activities and Achievements in the form of personal statements - do you think that snubs the U Dub requirements? (" In a few bullets or sentences, indicate your contribution.")

  3. Will someone read my essays, please?

How long are personal statements? They should be 50 words each, if I remember correctly. If you can fit it in, I guess they won’t mind. If you feel that some activities need to be elaborated on, I do believe there is an additional information section for that purpose.
