I was recently admitted but found an extremely surprising statistic in the brochure sent to me. Their 4 year graduation rate is 56%??? This seems extremely low to me and I'm wondering why this is? Any current students have an opinion on this?

NCES data (most of which is compiled from a school’s Common Data Set) for the University of Washington shows a 59% graduation rate for four years, and 80% for six years.

A lot of students double, triple, or even quadruple major. A lot of students also minor in something that has nothing to do with their major (thus, little to no overlapping required courses).

Then you have the people who have no idea what they’re going to do by junior year and end up changing majors several times.
