Does anyone know what it means to be a pre-business student at UW Madison? There’s no such course in their website.
Scroll down to the pre-business section and read. basically you have to apply to business school in your sophomore year after meeting a certain gpa with pre-requisite courses.
Sorry meant to reply Noel_Dalmas
I am wondering whether that means I can do any course while taking business prerequisites
Thanks Moongal. It broke a streak of deferrals so it was nice to see him excited again.
Just got accepted!!
App Submitted- 10/26
Major: Psychology, College of Letters And Sciences
International
Test-Optional
GPA: school doesn’t offer
Love that! That was my son 3 years ago, whatever…they’ll find me… I learned for the next one.
Do you mind sharing Stats?
Are there admitted students events? Could you share a link ?
I see my son’s admission page has listed “ major:computer science BS”, it is above the line “status:admitted”, not sure if it means direct admit to CS, as someone mentioned in this forum before there is no CS direct admit?
When do they release financial aid/merit? Did anyone get financial package w acceptance?
I did not see anything about Merit Aid. Are they releasing it later like Fordham did?
D22 got deferred for ME. She is a strong candidate. Not sure why.
My son’s friend was deferred with a 36 ACT, strong recs, APs, etc. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense, and sometimes it’s a yield
protection maneuver on UW’s part.
Wondering the same thing.
There is no rhyme or reason as to why some kids are getting in and others getting deferred. My daughter got deferred and has similar stats to the students I see got accepted-makes zero sense at all!!
So many deferred. Great candidates too. I don’t get it. They are acting like University of Michigan or an Ivy
For the business school
Son accepted OOS Engineering
SAT 1560
Weighted GPA 4.25
Sports, Honor Society, 9 AP classes
Agreed-what is going on? Hoping they deferred many since they couldn’t get to many of the apps. When hearing kids with the same stats or even lower stats than my daughter is very frustrating. My daughter not only has grades/test scores but rigorous course load, EC’s…
what I meant to write-kids with same or lower stats getting in and my daughter is not-it’s very frustrating…no logic to this entire process
