Did Madison defer more applicants than in recent years? If so, maybe to avoid accepting too many in EA like last year?

How does madison compare to Purdue, Michigan, and other flagship state uniā€™s for CS?

Are we thinking RD will be released 3/25 since itā€™s the last Friday of the month? Or Thursday, March 31st?

Tons of data on this - US news, threads, etc. but since my son applied to all 3 I can say from our assessment Michigan has the best reputation but CS can be crowded and hard to enroll, Purdue is probably on its way up (rankings) with CS with a strong engineering culture and great organized outreach and UWMadison is a strong CS program at a fun large campus with a lot of school spirit. Each have pros and cons.

All are very good, but if i had to rank them I would put UIUC, Purdue, and probably MI(know less about them) in the top tier, with Madison just a tad behind. Madison will have a new building in a couple of years or soā€¦the one they have right now is a bit crowded for my tastes.
To me, all are good enough, and itā€™s really just a matter of fit. Some love WI, some donā€™t. Same with all the other schools. S2 really liked Purdue and itā€™s CS building, but S1 wouldnā€™t be caught dead going there, mainly because he isnā€™t a small town guy.
