<p>I've been accepted to both UW Madison and Penn State and I plan on majoring in biomedical engineering. UW seems to have better academics and definitely has a better setting (aside from the weather).</p>
<p>My main qualm is that I'm from Maryland. During the summer and after I finish college, I plan on interning/working on the East Coast. I know Penn State has an excellent alumni network. UW does too, but it's hugely concentrated in the Midwest. Is this difference significant?</p>
<p>The cost of attending isn't a factor in my decision.</p>
