UW-Madison vs UMN-Twin Cities: Mechanical Engineering

So I’ve either going to go to UW-Madison or UMN-Twin Cities for Mechanical Engineering, and am having trouble deciding. They are about the same cost for in-state tuition, with Madison being a bit more expensive from a lack of merit aid. Does anyone have any info on which would be better? I’ve visited both and like the campus at UW-Madison better, but both are nice.

Well you’re not living in two states, so has one of the schools offered you in-state tuition as a scholarship?

Minnesota and Wisconsin have reciprocity for in-state tuition. Minnesota offered me some merit aid, and Wisconsin has not.

I’m also wondering how tough the progression requirement is with a 3.2 core GPA required to stay in the major at Madison.

The university of minnesota also requires a 3.2 gpa requirement to automatically be considered for your major so I wouldn’t use that as a consideration factor
