UW Ranked 17 Top University in the World

<p>The 2009 rankings are out. Courtesy of the Academic Ranking of World Universities. As with all lists they are very debatable; make sure you read their methodology.</p>

<p>Congrats to all students, prospective, current, and alumni.</p>

<p>As a sidenote: don't you guys think that our crest is the crappiest of them all. I wonder why they used the retro one... Maybe because it looks more like a crest than the new one? Also, how about those Universities of California!</p>

<p>I am having trouble getting into the ARWU site. I’ll try later, because I am interested in their methodology. I don’t agree with USNWR’s methodology and I wonder how this ranking differs.</p>

<p>Take all rankings with a grain of salt. Sometimes being known helps rankings. </p>

<p>Comment on the crest- remember you are not the only ones that count regarding university symbols, there are thousands, and generations, that also have an impact- this will make more sense to you decades later when the latest generation wants to mess with your alma mater.</p>
