UW Transfer 2021

I’m so sorry to hear about all of that. I can’t even imagine. Maybe try and call or email the school to tell them about your current situation, and it might move your decisions up in the process? I really hope it all works out soon!

SAAAME.

Vet, in my thirties, have great offers from great private schools. I’ve lived in Washington/Seattle my whole life. I’d go there over one of the T20 schools I got into. I’d give up a full ride + living expenses scholarship to go to UW.

I LITERALLY don’t think I can tolerate the uncertainty and lack of ability to make plans. I may have to give up on the only school I’ve wanted to go to my whole life. I’m so full of rage and disappointment at UW admissions.

I emailed and laid this out, begged for a decision or even a unofficial behind the scenes indication of my likelihood of acceptance. Its just so profoundly disrespectful that they are this messed up, slow, and impossible to decifer prerequisites. I applied to 59 schools. UW is the worst by several standard deviations. They are an outrageous outlier. Devastatingly out of step with the rest of the country. Truly humiliating.

their admissions (at least undergrad) are like a bunch of clusterfucks. I’m sitting here trying to make a LIFE decision. Moving out of state is not that easy, especially when I have to move my entire family since they are 1st Gen immigrants and still trying to understand America, and without the help of the Army.

I just feel such irony with them. UW Seattle always talking about “diversities, inclusive” and yet they treated transfers like second-class citizens(or second-class students). It’s just ■■■■■■■ pathetic! Maybe they feel that manipulating people makes them Big Man now?

I’m not even in a UW dominance major, I’m a communication student. Just like you, I’ve rejected Syracuse’s full-ride just because I cannot afford to move the entire family to 3000 miles away and reestablish a new life on the east coast. It is just unrealistic.

Man o man…

Update

Just called and they said they are still reviewing the summer applicants…
Tell me to wait and see, probably gonna come out around early June
This is just pathetic
Their enrollment is less than MSU, UIUC, UMN, or Ohio State, what could take so long? sigh…

It sounds like they won’t release many fall transfer applicants until they are done with summer. So I suppose early June for transfer applicants then.

I am assuming they are understaffed with the pandemic right now which is frustrating but understandable. To me no answer is better than a “no” ahahha. its exactly 2 weeks til june today. sending good vibes and luck to everyone!

I don’t know if this puts it in perspective but I didn’t find out about my position on the freshman waitlist last year until early august. They are going to take their time and people are going to have to make some tough decisions.

May 1 - June 30 is the notification time. UW will take that time, they made it clear it could take more than a month.

To be fair, they ARE understaffed but so does other big schools.
